I am an independent Canadian researcher. I do research as an “ordinary” citizen, without salary, without obligation, simply because it interests me and I find enjoyment in it. This gives me great freedom in choosing my research work. I remain, still today, a student at Université Laval in Québec City, Canada, as there is so much to learn… I also collaborate with educational institutions and research centers.
My goal is to give researchers and students around the world access to simple, accessible, and effective tools and procedures for studying and selecting the best local species and strains to boost their local agriculture.
I trained as an agronomist, long ago, at Université Laval. I first had a career in international development, as an agricultural financing specialist. In 2017, I “retired” from paid work to pursue a master’s degree on developing a simple method for culturing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in a lab setting. This work led to a scientific publication, which you can read here.
Following my master’s degree, I continued this research to further improve the method and develop several alternative protocols that work well. It is all of this work, and its results, that I wish to make available to researchers and students around the world. Very often, these advances are small steps, not significant enough on their own to justify a new formal publication, but useful nonetheless to those working in the field.
